Dedicated to her

Fall 2006-- Trip to Northeast to visit friend dying of breast cancer-- beautiful autumn-- last time to see my friend-- this post and the beauty of fall dedicated to her

This trip was to New York state, 2 hours north of the NYC.  I'd lived there before I came to California and had a friend there to die of cancer the following spring.  I flew out for a quick weekend to see her.

The following photos taken during my last walk with her.

She loved to collect berries for wreaths.

The autumn colors were at their height. So much glorious beauty. I will never forget that trip. The next pictures are taken in the company of another friend I stayed with.

These donkeys were lovebugs. We hugged and hugged. I couldn't get enough. Neither could they.

I know you hear me, dear friend. This is in your memory and dedicated to you in the spirit with which you lived and died.

Tears came to my eyes reading of your love for your friend. My best friend died of cervical cancer, 10 years ago and my mum of lung cancer, 2 years ago.
Memories are the only thing that keeps me going. It is nice to have them and these wonderful pictures too.

It's a blessing that your friend could see this beauty and spend some time with you. People live as long as they are remembered. I am hugging you.

Mary Delle, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend to the big killer C. Writing this comment to you brings tears to my eyes. I guess when you talk and write about your grief and look at the pictures that reminded you of the good times spent together, it will slowly release your pain until one fine day, only fondness and beautiful memories remain. I used to fear seeing people die but after having to personally go through the death of a few loved ones, I am now a much stronger person. I truly agree with what Tatyana said i.e. people lived on for as long as they are remembered. Take care, my friend.

When you mentioned that she collect berries to make wreaths, I can imagine that everytime you look at them - you will remember her.
Sorry for the loss, May God take her and keep her sweetly in his arms.
