Spider Takes a Walk

Spider, spider, oh so light,
Who did frame thy symmetry,
Gave thee shape
And gave thee legs
So to walk
Amongst the flowers.

Who gave thee power
To spin a web
So to walk
In air, freespace.

 Who gave thee purpose
So to change
Thy path a-walking,
Thy way to go.

Who did give thee
Such a mind
To walk in shades
Of orange, blue
Red and white,
In beauty bold
Where beauty brights.

Spider, spider, oh so light

To walk with you
Upon this day
About my Bird of Paradise.

Paradise, paradise
About my Bird of Paradise

Oh, to have such a view
As spider walks
On Paradise.

There is nothing like a bird of paradise. As someone who lives in a northern clime, they always take my breath away. I like your visitor too. :)Rebecca

I was fully prepared to be a bit freaked, as I hate spiders, but this one is actually cute.
what a beautiful bird of paradise, customers always ask for them, but they are never in as good condition as yours!

What a fun poem to go along with your pictures. I love spiders in the garden, just not in the house! What a beautiful display of photographs and Birds of Paradise!

It's a spider's world here in autumn. They're everywhere! I try to tell them to stay out of my husband's path though, lol. Lovely poetry for your spider and gorgeous Bird of Paradise.

Hi Mary Delle,
Okay, you know I hate spiders in the house... but I love them in the garden. Fantastic poem and great shots of this arachnid on your B.O.P!

Hello Mary. I couldn't wait to read your post after I read the title. The small wonders of nature are often the greatest...

Mary, you're a poet and a photographer! Fall seems to be the time I notice spiders the most.

Fun to watch the spider's walk, but incredible to view the Bird of Paradise. What a gorgeous flower, I wish I could keep them in my NW garden!

Thanks for the beautiful pictures and posts. We have lots of spiders, which I am learning to love, but no Bird of Paradise plants here. Your macro skills are great, and the poem is most enjoyable.

What a great post! Did you create the poem? Perfect combination. I've never grown a Bird of Paradise. Do you suppose it would "Winter Over" indoors here in Iowa?
